I never thought I’d spend a night in Madison Square Garden with thousands of other new yorkers clapping our hands as Bruce Springsteen belted out amazing Folk music while being accompanied by a 15 piece band, with horns, fiddles, drums and singers!! Hot DANG!
I actually cried for two of the songs, Bring Them Home and Rise Up. Bruce then brought the house down, with song after jubilant song. He is a singer who feels his music down to the depths of his soul and watching him dance across the stage, happy, energized, is a thing of beauty.
It reminded me of a West Virginia bluegrass festival I went to the summer after college, on my graduation road trip. Tonight was timeless and placeless and was all about the music.
The stage was chaos, fiddles going one way, horns another, until all came together in a synchronized rock, moving back and forth. Interspersed with the periods of jamming, all of the players in a cluster, I was grateful for my high level seats. Bruce mixed right in and they all jammed.
It was amazing. I think it is the best concert I have ever been to. It was pure joy and beauty and I am so glad to have skipped class to see it. This was an awesome, joyous experience. I loved it.
If you have any chance to see it, do it. It’s totally worth every minute. They played for three hours, nonstop. THREE hours of Bruce Springsteen and a folk band. It was AWESOME!!!!!
