All the tidings…

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

Well, it’s almost the end of another year. This was a tough one, with some challenging stuff going on. I hadn’t been as stressed as when I was going to law school part time and working full time.

So yea, we’ve had better runs. It’s amazing how after half a year, stress just becomes a constant, and you almost get used to it. Enough to drag your sorry self to the gym, but not enough to catch up on your six months of ignored personal emails.

Through it all, the one thing that has gotten better is my relationship with my husband. Every year it surprises me that we can fall more into love then we were the year before.

so blue

While I was in college I really likes a band called the Jayhawks. I dont’t remember how I fond out about them, they’re outside my normal genre preferences.

Anyhow, they have this song where the refrain goes:
“so blue, now that you’re gone”
which has just the most plaintive sound.

So this morning, as my work of took 7 minutes to boot up through its encryption, it rang out in my head, except as “so slow.”

While it doesn’t seem like much, it let me taste being 18 again, with the spring light filtering through the tree outside my dorm window, my voiceraised to match his, in an off key harmony as the cd spun. If only just for a moment.

mornings

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Some are harder to start then others. A lot of Sunday night leave me with a cold dread of starting work on Monday.
This has been a hard year. I’m tired and wish things were better.

And I left my wallet at home today. Welcome to Monday.

Sleeves

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

My husband didnt think I’d actually post about this but I have a complaint.

My biceps are too big for my jacket. Seriously. Why my arms continue to grow massive muscles while the rest of my body falls apart, I have no idea. But I already buy my jacket two sizes too big. Its at the point where I can’t fold my arms. Am I supposed to buy jackets four sizes too big?

This is nuts. Its like when I try to find shoes. They don’t make a whole lot of those in my size either.

Maybe this could be my excuse to finally move to San Diego, where I can just sidestep the whole thing by wearing short sleeves all day.

So there you have it. Bet you didnt think you’d read a blog about that, did you?
